Code of Conduct

Please refer to the following code of conduct as a resource and reminder for yourself. We look forward to meeting you in the studio!

1. Leave the studio better than you found it

    1. Please wrap all cables using the over-under method and organize them by type (¼” vs XLR) on the peg boards.

    2. Return all microphones to the file cabinet organizer next to the desk.

    3. Return amplifiers to the space where you found them and/or stow them neatly along the perimeter or walls of the studio.

    4. Fold any mic stands used in your studio session and stow them back in the corner opposite of the studio door.

    5. Sweep the studio for any equipment that may have been left out before you and stow it accordingly.

    6. Turn off all electricity. This includes any lights, any instruments (such as the hammond organ), and any amplifiers that may have been turned on.

2. Respect studio equipment

    1. Do not remove CU Records equipment from the studio without the prior approval of the CU Records board.

    2. Prior to use, make sure that the volume is turned all the way down on both your instrument and the amplifier.

    3. Avoid excessive volumes that risk damaging CU records equipment and your ears. Specifically, do not blow out the club’s amplifiers.

    4. Do not use drum sticks with damaged tips. The CU Records board ensures that there are sticks in good condition available for your use… use them.

    5. The CU Records board maintains an active inventory of all equipment in the studio. Please report any broken or damaged equipment to the board immediately and we will seek to repair or replace the equipment as soon as possible.
