Poem of Life

The afternoon was brief,
And a solitary stroll commenced-
Through Forests and Flesh
And - honest Secrets.

Deaf words-entrusted to me-
Were never the Epitaph
Of this excursion; I lost the key
And sharpness of my tongue.

My feet faltered, in this walk;
Steps fitting the granite stones.
It was a hearse, walking over,
Before a funeral in the tomb!

Beneath an ancient aspen Tree-
Sits a qualified Ostrich,
Its Diploma was handed to me,
With a leaf and a Mind to teach-
They are cloistered in a pen,
The Autocratic feathers
Shed, unceremoniously.
These birds… think like men,
Enchanting philosophers-
with the smallest step.
