Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Where is the studio located?
A. The studio is located on the fifth floor of Lerner Hall, Room 511.
Q. How can I stay in touch?
A. WhatsApp is the best way to interact with the community. Instagram will mainly show off what we’re up to and provide announcements. YouTube will have Sunday Sessions / content from shows.
Q. How can I get my stuff recorded?
A. Send a message in our WhatsApp briefly advertising your project scope and what you need from other members of the community (ex: a specific instrumentalist)
Guest sessions must be engineered by CU Records club members.
Q. Do you provide mixing and mastering services?
A. CU Records only provides the equipment, personnel, and space necessary for recording audio. We do not provide help with editing the audio afterwards. However, if you are looking for help with audio engineering, ask around in our WhatsApp and you might find someone willing to help ..
Q. Can I use the studio to record myself independently?
A. Yes, as soon as you have completed a training session with our leadership and spoken to the club’s advisor. At that point, all that’s left is for Public Safety to grant swipe access.
Q. Can I borrow equipment from CU Records?
A. None of CU Records’ equipment may be removed from the studio. IMATS and WBAR provide equipment loaning, so contact them if there is certain equipment you’re after.
Q. Can I leave my equipment in CU Records?
A. Yes, you can keep your equipment in CU Records if it doesn’t take up too much space. However, you must be okay with other members of the CU Records community using it if they so desire. Storing locked gear in the studio is severely uncool.
Q. Can I donate to CU Records?
A. Of course! CU Records is completely student-run, so any and all donations can be extremely helpful to our goals. If you’re interested in this, please get in touch!
